Building A Fence Around our Raised Garden Beds

There's something incredibly satisfying about creating a safe and nurturing space for our plants to thrive. One of the most rewarding projects is building a fence around our raised garden beds. Not only does this protect our precious vegetables from potential critters, but it also symbolizes our commitment to cultivating a peaceful and flourishing environment. Just as we work together to construct a fence, we must strive to be partners to each other in all aspects of life. We not only enhance our gardening skills but also take this time to strengthen our skills to create a safe and nurturing environment for each other.

Planting Fall Veggies

As the vibrant colors of summer gradually fade, we eagerly welcome the arrival of fall, with its crisp air and bountiful harvest. Planting fall veggies allows us to extend the joys of gardening and relish in the flavors of the season. From hearty spinach and delicate lettuce to robust carrots, we engage in the art of nurturing and savoring nature's gifts. From the earthy scent of freshly turned soil to the satisfaction of watching tiny seedlings emerge, the act of planting nourishes our souls. As we cultivate our garden homestead, we also cultivate our own personal growth

We planted tomatoes, strawberries, lettuce, peas, beans, carrots, spinach, celery, and broccoli.

Herbs like: rosemary, basil, oregano, parsley, thyme, lavender, turmeric, and ginger.

Beds planted and moved into the corner. Pallet shelving constructed to hold herbs and smaller window planters.

Taking a Night for Relaxation

In the midst of our busy lives, it's crucial to carve out time for relaxation and self-care. Taking a night to unwind and recharge is a vital component of our overall well-being. Whether it's curling up with a good book, indulging in a soothing bath, or simply enjoying a quiet moment of reflection, these small acts of self-kindness rejuvenate our spirit and allow us to face tomorrow with renewed energy.

Getting Out for a Social Night with Friends

Human connection is essential for our emotional well-being. As social beings, we thrive on laughter, shared experiences, and the warmth of friendship. Taking a night to socialize with friends not only strengthens our bonds but also provides us with the opportunity to celebrate life's milestones and accomplishments together. These moments of connection and joy remind us of the importance of nurturing relationships and cherishing the support we receive from our loved ones. It is these moments of connection that remind us that growth is not solely an individual endeavor but a shared experience.

Feeling Proud of Our Accomplishments

As we journey through life, it's crucial to acknowledge and celebrate our achievements, both big and small. Each step forward, each task completed, and each hurdle overcome brings us closer to the person we aspire to be.  By acknowledging our growth and feeling proud of our achievements, we cultivate resilience and self-worth. Embracing these moments of success empowers us to keep pushing forward and fuels our desire to continue growing and evolving.

As pictured above: At the end of the day the veggies are planted, the fence is built and we are slowly building our garden. Over winter we will prepare the front side yard with additional raised garden beds, continue the fence out, and add a gate from the back to the front portion. We will be adding rainwater collection and a gutter system for that as we go as well.

Growing Together in Marriage, Friendship, as Humans and in the Garden...

As we tend to our garden and homestead, we recognize the parallels between nurturing our relationships and nurturing our plants. Both require patience, dedication, and a willingness to grow together. In marriage, friendship, and our individual paths, we embrace the imperfections and acknowledge that growth is a continuous journey. As we nurture our garden and ourselves, we foster an environment where love, learning, and personal growth can flourish. As we reflect on today's experiences and prepare for the blank pages of tomorrow, let us embrace the choices and challenges that shape our lives. Through the act of building, planting, reflecting on, connecting with, and celebrating our accomplishments, we nourish both our garden, our homestead, and our souls. As partners in life's journey, we strive not for perfection but for constant growth and improvement. Together, hand in hand, we nurture our relationships, cultivate our garden, and embark on the beautiful path of this life we've been gifted. In this tapestry of our lives, every day holds potential, and by reflecting on our experiences, nurturing our surroundings, and embracing the support of loved ones, we unlock our own potential for transformation. Let us approach each new day as an opportunity to become better versions of ourselves, to make choices aligned with our values, and to face challenges with resilience and determination. Together, hand in hand, we can create a brighter, more fulfilling future.
